My sympathies to you and your family. Your dad looked like a very kind hearted man. It may not seem like it now, but in time you will see how lucky you are- to have had him around as long as you have, and also that your children were blessed enough to have known him too. I lost my dad over two years ago to cancer, he was 62. I'll be honest, I still have days where all I want to do is cry. I long to call him and at this point still refuse to remove his cell phone # from my contact list, even though it's long since been canceled. My dad was very influencial though, and each year I trek out into the woods for hunting season (a passion I inherited from him) and it's those times, when I am alone in the woods waiting on that monster deer to come within shootin' range that I feel him in my heart the most. I don't have kids yet, and at age 35 I know that may not happen, but I still feel it's important for me to allow him to continue to live through me. You are very lucky to have your boys who can help you keep him alive in each of your hearts, and pass not only his name to future generations, but a legacy and stories of a legendary man!
